Dementia Inclusive Sessions
The Education Team is delighted to offer Dementia-Inclusive workshops at Dublin Castle, as part of our Education Programme. These workshops are delivered by Tour Guides trained in the Azure methodology. These dementia-inclusive sessions offer guided observations of specific artworks at Dublin Castle to support people living with dementia and their families, friends and carers. Our aim is to create an inclusive space at Dublin Castle, where participants can practice the art of ‘slow-looking’ using selected artworks as their starting point. Each session includes an art-focused discussion, refreshments and an art activity inspired by the chosen artwork. Each session starts and ends in the Education Room of the State Apartments.
These Dementia Inclusive workshops are offered free of charge as part of our Education Programme and are scheduled month by month. We advertise these through our monthly e-newsletter and our social media channels.
